Scoresby Wantirna South Tennis Club Inc (SWSTC) was formed in 2014 as a result of the merger of the 2 local clubs Scoresby Tennis Club and the Wantirna South Tennis Club and has been located at Exner Park Scoresby Reserve since the merger.
The club has found that with the increased membership after the merger comes a number of advantages including the ability to field more teams across different playing days and grades and this allows the club to offer more competition and social tennis to both the members as well as local residents. We have also noted the financial benefits in the running of the merged club as there is only the one venue to fund and maintain for this increased membership. The club has increased membership over the past years and also improved the facilities and will continue to grow both through more teams, better facilities and strong governance.
The committee was made up of members of the 2 previous clubs to ensure the prior direction of both the clubs continued and the heritage and history of both clubs was not lost in the merger. Since the merger the clubs financial position has allowed for the improved facilities to be constructed with the support from the Knox City Council and our local Federal MP Alan Tudge. The club thanks both for their support.
With the initial clubroom refurbishment and the major court redevelopment work now complete we now focus on promoting social tennis via the use of the electronic Book A Court gate access as well as planning for the further court reconstruction work planned for the Scoresby tennis Centre over the next couple of years.
Membership details of the club can be found both at the clubrooms or online and we look forward to welcoming new members to be part of this exciting and growing tennis club in the future.
